§ 25-5. Official zoning map.

(a)

The unincorporated areas of Franklin County, Virginia, are hereby divided into districts, as indicated on a set of map sheets entitled "Zoning Map of Franklin County, Virginia," which, together with all explanatory matter thereon, is hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a part of this chapter.

(b)

The zoning map shall be identified by the signature or the attested signature of the chairman of the board of supervisors, together with the date of adoption of the ordinance from which this chapter derives.

(c)

The zoning administrator shall be responsible for maintaining the zoning map, which shall be located in his offices, together with the current zoning status of land and water areas, buildings and other structures of the county.

(d)

The zoning administrator shall be authorized to interpret the current zoning status of land and water areas, buildings and other structures in the county.

(e)

No changes of any nature shall be made on the zoning map or any matter shown thereon except in conformity with the procedures and requirements of this chapter. It shall be unlawful for any person to make unauthorized changes on the official zoning map.

(f)

Violations of this provision shall be punishable as provided in article VI.
