§ 26-6. Rebuttable presumption.

  • In any prosecution charging a violation of any provision of this chapter or any regulation or rule established pursuant hereto, proof that the vehicle described in the complaint, summons, parking ticket, or warrant was parked in violation of such provision, together with proof that the defendant was, at the time of such parking violation, the registered owner of the vehicle, as required by chapter 6 (section 46.2-600 et seq.) of title 46.2 of the Code of Virginia, 1950, as amended, shall constitute as evidence a rebuttable presumption that such registered owner of the vehicle was the person who parked the vehicle at the place where, and for the time during which, such violation occurred.
