§ 14-1. Definitions.

  • For the purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section:

    Peddler: Any person traveling from house to house or from street to street offering or exposing for sale or selling goods, wares, merchandise or magazines.

    Solicitor: Any person traveling from house to house or from street to street taking or attempting to take orders for the sale of goods, wares, merchandise, magazines or personal property of any nature whatsoever for future delivery or for service to be furnished or performed in the future, whether or not such person carries or exposes for sale a sample of such or whether or not he is collecting advance payment on such sales.
